| Mehar Chand Mastana is a professional artiste. Apart from singing, he has also been associated with the 'Man Singh Choudhary' theatre group for 22 years, which performs Punjabi folktales. Mehar Chand Mastana belongs to the Baazigar community of traditional performers. He is fortunate to be able to sustain his art and pass on his style to his children. He was trained in Music by Prem Chand from the Patiala gharana. He can play many instruments, some of them are: King, Toombi, Algoza, Harmonium, Dhol and he can even handle the modern Octopads and Drums. His favourite instrument and the one he uses most is the Dhol. |
