vivha (marriage) is considered to be the most
important one in a person's life. The giving
away of the bride in marriage is a joyous, yet
poignant experience for both the girl as well
as her family. The bride is forsaking the love
and security of the family in which she grew
up and stepping into a new life with strangers.
