In
the villages the boy and girl get married at
a very early age but the marriages are solemnized
when the boy & girl come of age. This solemnization
is known as 'Gauna'. This song is a gauna geet,
which is sung when the bride finally leaves
her mother's home to go & live with her
husband. It portrays the mixed feelings &
has a lot of apprehensions at the thought of
going to her husband's house.
